CRESTLINE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Two semi tractor-trailers were stuck on Friday afternoon on parts of a sharp mountain curve on Highway 138, shutting down the highway for much of the afternoon.
The incident began at approximately 3:15pm on October 2, 2026 on Highway 138 between Old Mill Road and Pilot Rock Rd. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Traffic Incident Information Page, One of the two semi driver became stuck at the sharp curve of the highway and jackknifed. The other semi became disabled in lanes.
CHP reported that two heavy-duty tow truck was needed.
Efforts to clear the road are ongoing, and vehicles are stuck behind the semi, according to Caltrans.
Traffic was caused by a semi fire on southbound 15 freeway that has two lanes blocked,
