HESPERIA, CA. (Pain in the Pass) >> A head-on fatal crash on Highway 138, near Summit Post Office Road or about a mile away from Summit Valley Rd. (on the Hesperia side of Hwy 138).
California Highway Patrol and firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic accident. The crash happened at about 8:43am on Friday January 7, 2021. The vehicles involved in the head on crash were a tan Honda Accord sedan and a white KIA Optima sedan.
Despite life-saving rescue measures, firefighters and CHP officials said the driver of the Honda was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other driver of the KIA was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.
CHP investigators have not yet determined what caused the crash. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Inland Office. CHP says additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
