CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Two lanes of northbound Interstate 15 were closed for two hours after a semi truck caught fire in the Cajon Pass Thursday afternoon.

California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Fire Department, and San Bernardino National Forest firefighters were getting calls of a white semi tractor on fire. The vehicle was located about two miles before the Oak Hill Road off ramp in the right shoulder. The semi fire happened on Thursday about 2:21pm February 10, 2022. California Highway Patrol and firefighters were on the scene and had to temporarily shut down the #4 lane and the slow lane while they worked on getting the semi fire put out.

Traffic backup quickly and firefighters had the fire out in about a half of a hour. Everybody did escape the semi before it became fully engulfed. No injuries were reported at the scene. It’s was reported the semi brakes were on fire. The official cause of the vehicle fire is unknown at this time. The semi was hauling a full load of food in the trailer and was intact with no fire damage.
