CAJON PASS CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A crash involving two semi tractor-trailer ended in a fire and caused multiple northbound lanes of Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass to close due to the brush fire and the crash cleanup.
According to initial reports from California Highway Patrol, one of the semis made contact with the other around 12:27pm December 13, 2025. The impact caused both vehicles to veer into the right shoulder, and one truck and trailer was engulfed in flames. The crash was on northbound I-15 just before the Kenwood Ave exit truck bypass lanes.
The burning semi and trailer further spreading the fire to the other semi. Flames started spreading to nearby brush up the hillside. Both semis burned to the ground.
Everybody in both semis were able to get out with one driver was bleeding.
The blaze, named the “Kenwood Fire” burning about 5 acres with forward progress stopped at 1:30pm.
Air tankers and a water-dropping helicopters were “actively engaged” helping ground crews. Early on, the agency estimated that the fire had the potential to grow to between 15+ acres with the afternoon wind.
A Sig-Alert was issued for truck bypass lanes with no estimated time to reopen of the closure.
