CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) Firefighters were busy on Monday afternoon after an SUV caught fire and sparked a small brush fire off of Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass.
Just before 12:30pm on December 22, 2025, emergency crews said they were called to northbound I-15 near the truck scales just after Cleghorn Road for a report of a vehicle fire.
When crews arrived, they reported finding that an white Cadillac Escalade SUV had caught fire and the flames had spread into nearby brush.
Responders quickly put out both the vehicle fire and the small brush fire that started beside it up the hillside.
It’s not yet clear what started the car fire or if any injuries were reported.
Officials said motorists should expect major delays in the area as crews work to knock down hot spots for at least three hours with the slow lane blocked.
