APPLE VALLEY, CA (Pain In The Pass) >> Accident on northbound I-15 freeway at the Stoddard Wells Road/Bell Mountain exit in the city of Apple Valley at 2:11pm Thursday afternoon.
For unknown reason the driver of the dark gray Dodge Ram pickup pulling a travel trailer collided in the back of a big rig semi trailer.
The entire cab of the pickup truck went underneath the rear of the semi trailer.
The big rig semi was parked off of the freeway on the shoulder and was hit from behind.
Northbound 15 freeway was temporary blocked due to the two helicopters that landed on the freeway.
From reports that the driver of the pickup truck died at the scene. A passenger was flown to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.
One lane was reopen at 3:20pm
The accident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Victorville office.
CHP says additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
