SAN BERNARDINO, CA (Pain In The Pass) >> A big rig caught fire on southbound Interstate 215 Monday morning in Devore/San Bernardino border.

Heavy smoke broke out on the trailer brakes as it was driving south on the freeway near the Palm Avenue/Kendall Drive exit at 5:51am.

The big rig pulled to the side of the freeway, is where the flames broke out on the trailer brakes then the fire spread up to the back end of the trailer.

San Bernardino County Firefighters arrived to unload the cargo
and fight the flames coming from the trailer.

Traffic was slowed down in the area has they temporary blocked the slow lane, but lanes reopened at 2pm.

The fire appeared to be start because of an issue with the rear brakes, California Highway Patrol said.

No injuries were reported.
