MOUNTAIN PASS, CA. (Pain in the Pass) >> A motorcyclist was involved in a crash with a big rig semi Saturday morning.

The accident was reported about 5:25am, Saturday December 19, 2020. On Northbound Interstate 15, about 2 miles before Cima Road.

Due to unknown circumstances, a big rig semi and a motorcycle collided near Cima Rd. exit. The crash was located between the town of Baker and Stateline.

California Highway Patrol and firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic accident. The motorcycle rider was laying on the shoulder of the Interstate. From the CHP traffic log stated the rider was alert but not moving.

Firefighters rendered aid to the injured motorcyclist. Then they requested a helicopter to transport the injured rider.

The rider had unspecified injuries and was transported by Mercy Air # 21 from the scene to Las Vegas University Medical Hospital.

The cause of this crash is unknown at this time.

This crash is currently under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Barstow Office.

CHP says additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
