FONTANA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> California Department of Transportation Caltrans will continue the Pavement Rehabilitation Project on Interstate 15 in the city of Fontana on Friday March 12 – Saturday morning March 13 this weekend.

This roadwork project includes repaving the four lanes in both directions, repaving the on and off ramps, replace the bridge, guardrails, and slab replacement in lanes.


• 8pm to 5am*: southbound from Glen Helen Parkway to Sierra Avenue; 3 of 4 lanes will be closed for pavement work. One lane will remain open to traffic. The southbound Glen Helen on ramp and Sierra Avenue off ramp will be closed.

• 10pm to 6am*: northbound from Sierra Avenue to Glen Helen Parkway; 3 of 4 lanes will be closed for pavement work. One lane will remain open to traffic. The Sierra Avenue on and off ramps and the Glen Helen off ramp
will be closed.

Southbound I-15 from the Cajon Pass, use the I-215 south to westbound 210 freeway to avoid delays and congestion. see map below.

Northbound traffic use eastbound 210 freeway to the northbound I-215 to avoid delays and congestion. see map below.

The work schedule will be subject to change due to weather or construction-related issues.

Always reduce your speed through the work zone. Caltrans expects to complete the project by end of June 2021.

*Lanes may open earlier if they finish early.
