VICTORVILLE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A pedestrian was hit on the northbound Interstate 15 in Victorville just before Roy Rogers Drive.
California Highway Patrol and Victorville Fire Department received calls of a male pedestrian hit by a car. The vehicle that reportedly hit the pedestrian was a light blue Toyota Camry and the driver did stop at the scene.
The accident was reported on northbound side of Interstate 15 just before Roy Rogers Dr. exit. It happened at about 6:12pm Thursday, April 22, 2021. When CHP and firefighters responded to the scene, they located one person with major injuries laying in the center divider. The male pedestrian was reported to have attempted to return back to the right shoulder after grabbing items from the center divider, this was stated on the CHP traffic log.
Firefighters called and requested a medical helicopter to transport to a local trauma hospital. The medical helicopter landed next on the Interstate. All northbound lanes were temporarily blocked for about an hour for the helicopter to land and the accident investigation. The pedestrian was transported by Reach Air Medical #43 to Loma Linda University Hospital with unknown injuries.
The accident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Victorville office. CHP says additional information will be updated as it becomes available. Please check back for updates on this incident.
