HARVARD, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Traffic was delayed for several hours on northbound Interstate 15 between the city of Barstow and Baker after a car caught on fire Friday afternoon. Traffic was backup for about 6 miles long. If you are going to Stateline/Vegas expect delays.

California Highway Patrol were getting calls of a vehicle on fire on the right shoulder before Fields Road exit. The car fire was reported about 1:18pm Friday May 21, 2021 with flames coming from the engine compartment. California Highway Patrol and firefighters were on the scene and had to temporarily shut down the slow lane, while they worked on getting the vehicle fire put out.

The vehicle was reported to be a black BMW sedan. A total of four people did escape the vehicle before it became fully engulfed. No injuries were reported at the scene. The cause of the vehicle fire is unknown at this time.
