CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A big rig trailer fire on Friday morning at the start of the Memorial Day Weekend slowed traffic in the Cajon Pass southbound Interstate 15 near the Cleghorn road exit, according to the California Highway Patrol.
California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Fire Department, and San Bernardino National Forest firefighters were getting calls of a big rig trailer on fire just before 10:52am, Friday on May 28, 2021. The big rig stop on the right shoulder of the freeway
Initial reports indicated the truck’s trailer brakes were on fire, the CHP said. Within a few minutes, the fire spread to the trailer tires and was quickly extinguished before reaching the trailer fully load of produce. CHP did temporary block the two right lanes for about a hour. The driver was able to release the big rig semi from the trailer. The cause of the big rig fire is unknown at this time and it started in the rear brake.
