BAKER, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Three people with major injuries in a solo vehicle rollover crash that sent the vehicle off the Interstate 15 near the town of Baker Saturday afternoon.
California Highway Patrol, and San Bernardino County Fire Department received calls for a single vehicle rollover crash. The vehicle was reported as a sliver Scion tC compact car that rolled-over multiple times. The vehicle came from the northbound I-15 landed about 60 feet down the embankment of the right shoulder of the freeway.
The crash was reported on northbound side of Interstate 15 about 8 miles after Zzyzx Road exit. It happened at about 4:06pm Saturday, June 19, 2021. When CHP and firefighters responded to the scene, they located three people inside the vehicle with major injuries. Firefighters called and requested a total of three medical helicopters to transport to a local hospital.
All three medical helicopter landed on the northbound side of the Interstate, CHP82, Mercy Air #24 and Mercy #66 landed to airlifted all three patients to University Medical Center in Las Vegas. Three patients condition were unknown at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Barstow Office. CHP says additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
CHP temporarily shut down northbound lanes for about 45 minutes for the each helicopter to land and take off.
