FONTANA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A big rig lost control and partly went down the embankment off of northbound Interstate 15 Monday night after it blew out a tire, officials said.
California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the incident of a big rig that went down the embankment. The only vehicle involved in the crash was the white big rig. The crash was reported about 9:45pm, Monday June 21, 2021, on northbound Interstate 15 just before Baseline Road exit. From what the CHP traffic log stated, the big rig blew a tire and lost control, crashed into the guardrail on the right shoulder of the freeway. The trailer went down the embankment and the cab of the truck was on top of the guardrail. CHP blocked the #4 and #5 lane for hours as they retrieved the big rig and the trailer down the embankment.
No injuries were reported at the scene. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol San Bernardino Inland Office. CHP says additional information will be updated as it becomes available. Please check back for updates on this incident.
