OAK HILLS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A small brush fire broke out at the top of the Cajon Pass along Interstate 15 Wednesday afternoon.
This fire was reported at 1:19pm Wednesday, June 30, 2021, on northbound Interstate 15 between the Oak Hill Road on and off ramps and the Oak Hill Rd. overcrossing bridge. San Bernardino County Fire Department, CAL Fire, and US Department of Forest Service were getting calls of a small brush fire at the top of the Cajon Pass next to the right shoulder of the 15 freeway.
Firefighters were quickly on scene. At 1:45pm the forward rate of progress was stopped at ½ of a acre. Fire crews will be at scene for at least two to three hours to create a barrier between the burned and unburned brush and to make sure all embers and hot spots are completely out. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
