HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> On Sunday night during the Fourth of July festivities, the San Bernardino County Fire Department sprung into action just before 4pm as firework related fire calls began to come in.

According to San Bernardino County Fire, they responded to reports of multiple vegetation fires and some structure fires across the Victor Valley area From Phelan to Apple Valley. Multiple fires caused by fireworks, including the biggest one at Nielson and at White Road. in the Baldy Mesa area at 3:44pm. One on Danbury Ave in the Mesa in Hesperia just before 9pm that burned a couple of acres. A fire at the corner of Ranchero Road and Cottonwood Avenue at 10:33pm in Hesperia. Then a small fire on Caughlin and Phelan Road at 12:10am, Monday in Phelan.

Flames did threaten homes in the areas posted above. It’s unclear if anyone was hurt or if there was any damage to homes or buildings in the area. Officials said that even though how the fire started is still under investigation, the incidents are still a good example of just how dangerous fireworks can be.
