work on a $4.6 million project to resurface existing lanes on Highway 2 in San Bernardino County. The project spans from the Los Angeles County line near the town of Wrightwood to Highway 138.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, August 17 and 18 from 8am to 6pm each day. Caltrans will be doing deflection highway testing operations will take place on Hwy 2 from Hwy 138 to Sheep Creek Drive. What is deflection highway testing? It’s a tool for evaluating the pavement layers under a heavy load. This can estimate the remaining life of a pavement. Expect delays with one-way traffic control with flagging and pilot car will be in place to escort motorists through the construction zone. Delays can last up to 15 minutes at peak time.

Be advised, weather may affect and delay this operation. Remember to reduce your speed in the work zone.
