SAN BERNARDINO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A small brush fire broke out just after University Parkway exit on southbound Interstate 215 Wednesday afternoon. This was the second fire within a 10 mile span today.
This fire was reported about 3:53pm Wednesday, August 25, 2021. Location on the University Pkwy onramp to southbound I-215. With Colton Fire Department and San Bernardino County Fire Department firefighters were quickly on scene. At 5pm the fire has been stopped and about out at about a one to two acres burned. CHP and firefighters had the slow lane and the onramp closed during the fire fight.
From reports from the CHP traffic log stated a white BMW sedan with a partial license plate 8GX**** lost control, went up the embankment reported started the fire. Minutes later the vehicle fled the scene southbound I-215. Its unknown if the found the driver or the car.
