DEVORE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Saturday, a vehicle caught fire, which spread to the nearby brush on southbound Interstate 15 at the 215 split in the Cajon Pass, according to officials with the US Forest Service.
California Highway Patrol and US Forest Service, and San Bernardino County Fire Department were getting calls of a sliver vehicle on fire. The vehicle was located on southbound I-15 at the 215 split on the right shoulder. The vehicle fire happened on Saturday November 20, 2021 about 7:13am.
California Highway Patrol and firefighters were on the scene and had to temporarily shut down the slow lane while they worked on getting the vehicle fire put out and brush. The brush fire grew to approximately 100 by 10 feet in size before it was brought under control, according to Fire officials. Everybody did escape the vehicle before it became fully engulfed. No injuries were reported at the scene. The cause of the vehicle fire is unknown at this time.
