HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Crash on Highway 138 injured two people on Christmas morning. Two drivers were rushed to the hospital, one of them by helicopter after a serious head-on collision on Highway 138, authorities said.
The crash was reported on the Highway 138 about two mile west from Summit Valley Road. This happened at about 7:15am Saturday, December 25, 2021. California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino Fire Department received calls of a head-on crash with two vehicles involved, both with heavy front end damage. The vehicles involved were a black Honda Accord and a sliver Dodge Charger.
When CHP and firefighters responded to the scene they reported to have two male drivers with critical injuries and one of them would require extrication. Firefighters requested a medical helicopter to transport one of the drivers to a local trauma hospital. The medical helicopter landed at the scene. Mercy Air #22 airlifted the male driver to Antelope Valley Hospital with critical injuries. The other male driver was rush by ground ambulance to Loma Linda University Medical Center also in critical injuries.
Highway 138 between Interstate 15 and Summit Valley Road was closed for about two and a half hours for the investigation.
CHP investigators have not yet determined what caused the crash. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Inland Office. CHP says additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
