FONTANA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Irene Hernandez, a 29-year-old woman, of San Bernardino died following a pedestrian incident that occurred on the Interstate 15 Freeway.
The incident was reported on Thursday afternoon December 23, 2021 about 3:09pm on the southbound Interstate 15 just north of Duncan Canyon Road exit in Fontana. The California Highway Patrol traffic log reported that a black Chrysler 300 sedan spun out on the wet roadway and collided with Irene. She was reportedly standing outside of her white Mercedes-Benz on the right shoulder of the freeway.
When CHP arrived on the scene, they found a person that was hit and unresponsive on the shoulder of the freeway. Unfortunately even with the help of life-saving efforts, Irene was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the black Chrysler that hit the her was not injured and did stay at the scene and was cooperating with the investigation, CHP said. This incident is currently under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Rancho Cucamonga Office.
