HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >>A stolen vehicle suspect was taken into custody Friday morning following a lengthy pursuit after leading law enforcement on a pursuit through Los Angeles and San  Bernardino counties.

The vehicle involved in the chase was a dark blue GMC Envoy Sport Utility Vehicle had been reported stolen out of Los Angeles area after 10pm. The California Highway Patrol began pursuing the SUV on eastbound Interstate 10 Freeway then on northbound I-15 towards the Cajon Pass.

The suspect went up the Cajon Pass on the northbound 15 Freeway then encountered a construction zone that was blocking two lanes in Hesperia. This is when the suspect hit a set of spike strips under the Highway 395 bridge. This blew out all four tires and ended the pursuit in the construction zone area just after Main Street in Hesperia.

The suspect got out and surrendered to authorities a little over 3 hours after the pursuit began. CHP took the man into custody in the city Hesperia.
