VICTORVILLE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Firefighters quickly control a small brush fire that broke out in Mojave Riverbed next to southbound Interstate 15 Friday afternoon.
This fire was reported at about 1:12pm Friday, February 4, 2022. Located of the fire is near Stoddard Wells Road and Interstate 15. Victorville City Fire Department with help from San Bernardino County, and Cal Fire firefighters were quickly on scene. The winds were gusting about 25 mph. (cymbalta) Two helicopter were called to the scene to do water drops.
At 3:30pm the fire had forward progression stopped at about 12 acres burned. Firefighters will remain in the area for mop-up operations though the night to make sure no hot spots flare up. The freeway was never affected. Stoddard Wells Road was closed during the fire fight. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
