ADELANTO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> California truckers are tired of all the COVID-19 mandates they are expected to join the “Freedom” convoy to Washington D.C. this week.
The message the truckers intend to deliver from the High Desert to Washington, D.C. is that the “government has forgotten its place,” and its mask and vaccination mandates are unconstitutional.
Organizers said the People’s Convoy is planned to be a peaceful and unified transcontinental movement, which will begin on Tuesday February 22, 2022. At noon they will start the staging for the truckers at Adelanto Stadium. About 1,000 trucks are expected to start the trip and more will join in as the convoy heads to D.C. Then on Wednesday February 23, at 10am a public rally. At 11am, the convoy will depart from the Adelanto Stadium located at 12000 Stadium Way in the city of Adelanto to Washington, D.C.
At the rally, the truckers will hear words of encouragement and blessings from a group of speakers supporting them on their journey, according to organizers. The organizers expect many freedom-loving supporters from all walks of life that will attend.
Participants can be in the send-off area by either attending the launch gathering or by getting in their vehicles and following the big rigs from Adelanto toward the East Coast, organizers said on Saturday.
There will be groups of people planning to line up on overpasses to support the drivers with American flags.
“God bless every one of you for doing this for all of us,” Caldwell said. “We support you all and hope to show our support on Wednesday. Look for us on your way to Vegas outside of Barstow. We are all praying for your safety and a successful outcome.”
Organizers say the convoy, which follows similar to Ottawa, Canada protests, will call on the U.S. government to lift the declaration of a national emergency concerning the COVID-19 pandemic and to stop depriving U.S. citizens of their “fundamental rights” by enforcing mask and vaccine mandates.
“With the advent of the vaccine and workable therapeutic agents, along with the hard work of so many sectors that contributed to declining COVID-19 cases and severity of illness, it is now time to re-open the country,” convoy organizers said.
The average American worker needs to be able to “end-run the economic hardships” of the last two years and get back to the business of making money so they can pay their rents and mortgages and help jumpstart the economy, the group added.
The People’s Convoy is a non-partisan effort supported by a cross-cultural and multi-faith consortium of organizations, including the anti-vaccination Robert Kennedy Jr.’s Children’s Health Defense TV, which will be embedded with the convoy and carry live updates, along with numerous other media outlets.
Also involved are doctors, including the Frontline COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance, as well as lawyers and transportation workers like pilots.
The Unity Project, the America Project, Advocates for Citizens’ Rights, U.S. Freedom Flyers, the American Foundation for Civil Liberties & Freedom and faith leaders from every spectrum will also show support.
The convoy is being assisted by retired military personnel and security experts, spearheading logistics to ensure a safe, lawful and peaceful journey.
