VICTORVILLE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Construction work and two separate crashes, with one being a multiple vehicle crash caused a slowdown on southbound I-15 for miles Tuesday morning.
Combined with overnight construction work in the same area, drivers were experiencing large traffic slowdown for their morning commute.
California Highway Patrol received the first call of an accident in the construction traffic backup of a solo vehicle crash. The crash was reported on southbound Interstate 15 before the Bear Valley Road exit. It happened at about 3:14am Tuesday, March 1, 2022. A vehicle went off the freeway and landed onto Amargosa Rd. Construction work had two lanes closed from Bear Valley Rd. to Main St. They were finishing up just before 5am and traffic was backed up for about 2 miles.
Traffic was getting better with all lanes being reopened. There was still a pocket of slower traffic just before Main Street. That’s when California Highway Patrol received calls of a four vehicle crash at 5:10am. This crash blocked the fast lane for about a half an hour. No injuries were reported in both crashes.
