ORO GRANDE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Fire crews are battling a brush fire in the town of Oro Grande in San Bernardino County Monday afternoon.
The Heritage Fire broke out at around 12:42pm Monday March 14, 2022, off of Heritage Way in the town of Oro Grande, according to the Fire Department. San Bernardino County Fire Department with help from CAL FIRE and others were on scene quickly. As of 8pm the fire has burned at least 388+ acres with no containment at this time in the Mojave River bottom. Evacuations are still in place south of Melrose Ave to Roy Rogers Dr. between Bryman Rd and the Mojave River bottom. No structures have been reported to be damage or destroyed.
Update at 11pm the fire is at or around 400 acres and is 10% contained. Active with flame visible.
7:30am Tuesday morning update the fire is at 454 acres burned and still 10% contained.
1pm Tuesday the fire burned 500 acres and still 10% contained.
