HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Two people were injured after a semi tractor trailer rear-ended another semi tractor trailer this morning on Interstate 15 in Hesperia.

The crash was reported at about 1:46am Saturday March 26, 2022. Located on southbound I-15 under Main Street bridge. California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the collision. 

CHP were on scene and stated that two people were reportedly trapped inside the cab of a semi. Firefighters were able extricate the driver and passenger. They requested two medical helicopter to transport them both to a local trauma center. Mercy Air 66 landed near the freeway to transport one person to Loma Linda University Medical Center in critical condition. Mercy Air 22 also landed near the freeway and transported the other person to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

For reasons still under investigation, a semi tractor trailer traveling at an unknown speed collided into the back of the another semi tractor trailer. It’s unknown if one of the semi was disabled or driving slow. The driver of the semi that was rear-ended was not injured.

CHP stated approximately 30 gallons of diesel fuel and oil spilled on the freeway. The spill was stopped before reaching the shoulder and did not pose a hazmat situation. Caltrans came out to clean up the spill.

No further details have been provided at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Victorville Office. Please check for updates on this incident.
