HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Two suspects were arrested after a wild pursuit took place Friday afternoon involving a stolen Nissan Frontier.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the chase with the stolen sliver Nissan pickup truck began at before 4pm on southbound Interstate 15 Freeway fromthe Barstow area.
There were two suspects inside the Nissan driving recklessly, weaving in and out of traffic and hitting speeds of over 100 miles per hour at times.
A little before 5pm, the pickup appeared to drive slower because of heavy traffic due to a fatal crash up ahead in the Cajon Pass had lanes blocked. The suspect was able to exit the freeway and crash into the embankment on Mariposa Road and Joshua Street.
At about 5pm, CHP and Hesperia Police reported that the pursuit was over. They reported two in custody a male and a female.
The exact circumstances which sparked the chase were unclear at this time beside the reported stolen vehicle.
There are no other details released. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Barstow Office. CHP says additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
