Multiple Vehicle Crash Leads To Closure Of Northbound 15 In The Cajon Pass Sunday Night

CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A multiple vehicle accident lead to closures of northbound Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass late Sunday night.

California Highway Patrol and firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to a multiple vehicle crash. The collision was reported at about 10:55pm, Sunday April 24, 2022. It was located on northbound Interstate 15 at Cleghorn Road exit. The five vehicles involved according to the CHP traffic log were two unknown make or model sedans, a gray Hyundai Elantra sedan, a big rig, and a older motorhome.

All lanes were blocked for about two hours while emergency crews were able extricate the injured parties out of there vehicles and the motorhome that was completely destroyed. Debris and septic fluid were reported all over the traffic lanes. CHP was able to use the on and off ramp to bypass the crash scene. At 2am two lanes were open and all lanes were open by 3am.

Two people were transported by ground ambulance to Arrowhead Medical Center. One with major injuries and one with minor injuries.

We are working to find out more details on this crash. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol San Bernardino Office. CHP says additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
