APPLE VALLEY, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> At least 60-gallons of diesel fuel spilled on northbound Interstate 15 on Thursday morning after a tire blew and hit the guardrail and leak fuel all over the roadway.

California Highway Patrol responded to the traffic incident. They reported the crash at about 2:32am Thursday May 19, 2022, on northbound 15 in Victorville. The semi driver reportedly blew a tire at freeway speeds about a mile before the Stoddard Wells Road/Bell Mountain exit. From what the CHP traffic log stated the driver was partially in the slow lane when he became disabled after hitting the guardrail and spilling fuel on the roadway.

The driver reportedly lost control after blew a front tire, veered to the right and hit the guardrail and punctured the fuel tank. The semi damage about 100 feet of guardrail. CHP said.

CHP called for Caltrans Hazmat crews to clean up the fuel spill described as a hazardous materials spill. They had the right two lanes blocked for over 12 hours due to the intense clean-up and guardrail repair.

The semi driver was not hurt in the collision.
