CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A pick-up truck hauling hay bales and feed barrels spilled on the freeway after a car crashed into the back of the pickup truck on Interstate 15 Tuesday morning. The crash and debris snarled traffic for about a hour while crews cleaned up the roadway.
California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic collision involving four vehicles. The crash was reported at about 10:22am, Tuesday August 16, 2022. The location was just after Highway 138 exit on northbound I-15. All four vehicles that were involved in the collision weren’t described on the CHP traffic log. Two vehicles had reported to have minor damage. The blue sedan had major front end damage. The pickup truck had rear end damage and lost hay bales and feed that were in the barrels. The three left lanes were blocked for a little over a hour, while they towed the blue sedan away and cleaned the debris from lanes.
Emergency crews said one person in the blue sedan had minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. No other people were injured.
Traffic lanes were reopened by 11:38am and traffic was backedup to Kenwood Avenue.
We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. The incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Inland Office. CHP said additional information will be updated as it becomes available. Details were limited at this time.
