CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A crash involving three vehicles temporarily shut down three northbound lanes on Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass on Sunday morning.
California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino Fire Department received calls of a collision on northbound I-15 just after Kenwood Avenue onramp. The crash happened at about 10:18am Sunday on August 21, 2022.
The vehicles involved in the crash were a white BMW sedan, a black Tesla Model 3 and a black Chrysler 300 sedan. On arrival, firefighters located the BMW with heavy front-end damage, blocking the #1 lane. The Tesla also had some damage blocking the #1 lane. The Chrysler was blocking the #2 and #3 lane with heavy front-end damage.
Rescue crews requested two ambulances but only one was needed. One person from the BMV was transported by ground ambulance to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries. Other people involved had only minor injures. Lanes were reopened after about an hour and 15 minutes. Traffic was backed up all the way to the 15/215 split.
