MOUNTAIN PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Good news If your planning on traveling either to Stateline or Las Vegas from Southern California over the 3 day Labor Day weekend, southbound Interstate 15 lanes near Stateline will be open starting Friday morning.

Caltrans announced that all traffic lanes will be open, effective 6am. Friday. The agency says it will have a “no construction moratorium” that will continue through Labor Day weekend, ending at 6pm. Tuesday night.

The emergency bridge work under the Wheaton Wash bridge was due to erosion that occurred during last week storms of flash flooding. Crews were working throughout the day and night to repair under the bridge so it wouldn’t collapse. Caltrans had two of three lanes closed for the repairs that resulted in huge traffic delays for anyone coming back into California everyday.

Thank you Caltrans and Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) crews who worked so hard to make this re-opening possible for the holiday weekend.

This weekend the Labor Day a 3 day weekend they are saying millions of vehicles travel on Interstate 15 to Vegas over the weekend.
