PHELEN, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> No injuries were reported after a semi tractor-trailer overturned Wednesday morning off of southbound Interstate 15 on Highway 138 offramp.

According to the California Highway Patrol the accident happened at about 4:25am November 2, 2022. The semi, pulling a trailer, was driving south on Interstate 15, the driver failed to negotiate the downhill exit of Highway 138. The seemi driver lost control of the truck, which rolled onto its driver side and slid onto Highway 138.

For reasons still unknown, what exactly caused the semi to overturned on its side. One factor could have lost his brakes or he could have fell asleep.

This incident resulted in a major traffic jam that delayed commuters for hours. Traffic was backed up for several miles on southbound I-15 and on Hwy 138 Wednesday morning.

Lanes and the offramp were reopened at about 11:30am with no injuries that were reported and the cause of the accident is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Inland Office.
