SAN BERNARDINO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A 22-year-old Whitter man has been identified as the pedestrian hit and killed by a car on Sunday while walking on Interstate 215 near 9th Street, San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office said.

The crash was reported about 3:57am. on October 30, 2022, according to the California Highway Patrol. The incident happened on northbound I-215 between 9th St. and Baseline Street in San Bernardino. When CHP officers arrived, they found the crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. 

John Castillo, a 22-year-old resident of Whitter died at the scene of “multiple traumatic injuries,” was confirmed dead at the scene by paramedics.

The driver that hit the pedestrian reportedly did stay at the scene and was cooperating with the investigation, and there are no charges set to be placed at this time. This incident is currently under investigation by the California Highway Patrol San Bernardino Inland Office. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
