FONTANA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Powerful Santa Ana winds have knocked over at least five big rig semi’s pulling trailers from reports on the CHP traffic log, as of 12pm Wednesday afternoon. This happened along the 15 Freeway / 210 Freeway corridor between Cajon Pass/Devore and Fontana.
When California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino Fire Department arrived, they saw the first big rig on the southbound side of the 15 freeway near Sierra Avenue at about 4:30am November 16, 2022. The second and third ones were both on SB I-15 before Sierra Ave. The fourth one was on the transition road from the 210 freeways to south I-15. The fifth one was on the eastbound 210 Freeway at Day Creek Road.
No injures were reported in all the incidents.
The National Weather Service said one gust was registered around the Cajon Pass at 75 mph.
