SAN BERNARDINO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The pedestrian was fatally struck down by a Burrtec Waste Disposal truck around 5:52am when the pedestrian was walking in the intersection of University Parkway and southbound Interstate 215 on ramp.
The 59-year-old Daniel Deleon of San Bernardino, was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:05am.
CHP said the driver immediately stopped and called 911.
When rescue crews arrived on the scene, they found the pedestrian that was hit and was unresponsive in front of the onramp entrance. When CPR efforts on scene failed, shortly after they pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene.
The cause of the incident is currently under investigation by California Highway Patrol Inland Office and the garbage truck driver is fully cooperating with investigators, according to the CHP officer.
