CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The Auto Club (AAA) estimates 112.7 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more away from home from December 23 to January 2. That’s an increase of 3.6 million people compared to last year and the third busiest since AAA began tracking in 2000. They also said about 90% of holiday travelers will drive to their destinations. NO ROADWORK Thursday morning – Monday night from the 10 freeway up to Stateline on Interstate 15 this Christmas weekend.

Expect delays on Thursday and Friday afternoon/evening for northbound I-15 traffic. Sunday is Christmas Day could have traffic at night. Expect delays on Monday and Tuesday afternoon/evening for southbound I-15 in the Cajon Pass, Devore, Hesperia, Victorville, Barstow, Baker and Stateline areas. Try to travel during off peak hours (early morning or late at night). The worst time to travel is around 2pm to 8pm on Thursday and Friday. Monday worst time to travel is 12pm (noon) to 7pm. Tuesday could be a heavy traffic day if they take more days off.

• Bring a charged cell phone (with a car charger).

• Use the restroom before you get on the road – you don’t know where you may get stopped for long periods of time.

• Bring your patience, Please. Don’t need road rage this Holiday weekend.
