CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A crash involving two semi-trucks and debris led to traffic backups on Interstate 15 just after Highway 138 Saturday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. 

The crash happened at about 8:18am Saturday January 14, 2023. The location of the collision was on northbound Interstate 15 about a mile after Highway 138 exit. California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic crash involving two semis. One of them was a red big rig tractor-trailer with major front-end damage and a white big rig tractor-trailer that was reported to be disabled in the #4 lane.

As a result, CHP said the white semi-truck crashed into the back of the white disabled semi, causing debris to spill out from the trailer and parts of the red cab of the semi onto the freeway.

at 9am CHP issued a SIG ALERT for about one hour to remove the semi out of lanes and the cleanup the debris.

No injuries were reported at the scene. As of 10am all lanes were reopened traffic was backup at one time close to Kenwood Avenue.

We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Inland Office.
