CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A speeding white sedan crashed into the back of the large box truck causing the box truck to overturned, spilling fuel over multiple lanes Thursday afternoon.

California Highway Patrol and firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic crash. The collision was reported at about 3:02pm, Thursday January 19, 2023. The location was on southbound Interstate 15 about a mile and a half before Kenwood Avenue exit. The vehicles involved in the collision were a white 4 door sedan with major front-end damage and a large white box truck that overturned on its side leaking fuel onto the traffic lanes.

From reports on the CHP traffic log, the white sedan was speeding and driving reckless prior to the collision.

Rescue crews requested at least one ambulance to the scene. One person was transported by ground ambulance to Loma Linda University Medical Center with major injuries. The two other people involved had only minor to moderate injures and were not transported.

A SIG ALERT was issued at 3:35pm for over a 4 hour cleanup. Diesel fuel is hard to clean and it requires hazmat cleanup. Traffic was backed up over 10+ miles at one point.
