HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> PepsiCo, Inc. driver is expected to survive after getting pinned beneath the trailer that rolled over on Interstate 15 Saturday morning.

The driver some how lost control of the semi hitting the right side guardrail causing it to flip the trailer on its side. California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino Fire Department received calls of a collision on northbound I-15 between Ranchero Road and Highway 395 exits. The crash happened at about 5:18am Saturday morning on February 11, 2023.

When recuse crews arrived at the scene they located a single-vehicle involving a PepsiCo, Inc. semi cab with major front-end damage with the trailer rolled over on its side. The trailer was reported to be loaded with approximately 15,000 lbs. of pallets of soda.

Recuse personnel found the semi driver with his leg pinned between the trailer and the concrete wall. He also was laying in a puddle of diesel fuel, according to the California Highway Patrol traffic log.

Fire crews requested a medical helicopter to transport the semi driver that was partly trapped underneath the trailer. He was transported by Mercy Air #22 helicopter near the scene to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. The extent of the driver injuries is unknown at this time. 

Two lanes (bypass lanes) will be open for several hours as they clean-up and remove the pallets of soda from the trailer in the #3 and #4 lanes. They said lanes should be be open later this afternoon.
