CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Opal, a 35 lb. white and brindle female pit bull/corgi mix who was spooked and ran-a-way from a rollover crash late Thursday night.

The crash happened at about 9:49pm Thursday, March 23, 2023. It was at the Cleghorn Road exit on northbound Interstate 15. According to the California Highway Patrol, a crash involving a black Dodge Ram pickup truck, a semi tractor trailer, and a white Ford F150 pickup truck pulling a 35-40 foot toy hauler trailer.

Opals owner was driving in the white Ford pickup pulling the trailer and was reported to be hit from behind at an unknown speed and lost control. This caused the truck and trailer to overturn, blocking the #3 and #4 lanes. There were two dogs inside the truck with the male driver.

Opal was spooked and ran-a-way, last seen from the crash scene running up the hill by Cleghorn Fire Rd. Even with the help of good Samaritans they couldn’t catch her.

The dog is a 35 lbs. white and brown/brindle female pit bull/corgi mix. She prefers women over men calling her name. She will respond to Opal, puppy or monster. She is not microchipped. The owner’s families contact information is (760)709-6235 if found.

There were no major injuries reported in the collision.

***UPDATE *** Opal was found Saturday night and SAFE with her owners. I like to give a big THANK YOU to each person who search or called in tips for Opal.
