CHP and firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to crash. The collision was reported at about 12:18am, Sunday May 28, 2023. The crash was located on northbound Interstate 215 between Inland Center Drive and Mill Street exits blocking middle lanes. The vehicles reported to be involved were a gray/silver Honda Odyssey mini van, a black Kia Soul, and possibly a Dodge Magnum.

A Honda mini van reportedly lost control and hit the center divider and stop in the middle lanes.

Shortly thereafter, a Kia collided with the disabled Honda causing one of the vehicles to catch fire. All three vehicles were reported to be blocking the #1, #2, and the #3 lanes.

Rescue crews rendered aid to all victims involved in the collision. When CPR efforts on scene failed, they pronounced one person deceased at the scene.

There were injuries reported on scene, it was unknown how many people were transported to a local hospital.

The identity of the person killed is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
