SAN BERNARDINO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Two people were killed and another was taken to a hospital in critical condition following been ejected Saturday morning on Interstate 215.

California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County firefighters responded to the scene on southbound I-215 just after the 210 Freeway about 2:38am on June 24, 2023.

The vehicles involved in the collision were a gray Jeep Grand Cherokee, a white work utility work truck, and a semi tractor-trailer stated on the CHP traffic log.

When rescue team arrived, they located a Jeep with major damage and was fully engulfed in flames. One person, who had been ejected from the Jeep was laying in the fast lane barely alive, they rushed the victim to a local hospital in critical condition. Sadly they found two other occupants were in the Jeep and were unable to escape the collision. They were both pronounced deceased at the scene.

No other injuries were reported at the scene.

Their identity will be withheld pending next of kin notification.

We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s accident report is available. The investigation is ongoing and additional details were limited at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Inland Office.
