HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The San Bernardino County Fire Department says a brush fire has been reported east of Hesperia, south of Apple Valley area Tuesday afternoon. (Picture above is credit by Patricia Johnson.)

The fire dubbed the Roundup Fire was reported at about 12:30pm Tuesday, July 4th, 2023. It is burning in a remote area of Rattlesnake Canyon and Juniper Flats east of the town of Hesperia. Flames are burning on top of the mountain, the fire burn down the mountain with help of gusty winds.

The brush fire is estimated to have burned roughly 30 acres and the forward progress stopped as of 1:45pm. Smoke could be seen from the high desert cities

No structures are directly threatened.

Details about how the fire started were not immediately available.
