OAK HILLS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The Ranchero Road Widening Project is continuing with more road closures.
Starting Friday July 21 Ranchero Road will be closed from Escondido Avenue to Mariposa Road through Tuesday August 1* for roadway improvements.
In addition, a hard road closure will be in effect at the Union Pacific Railroad at-grade crossing on Ranchero Road between Kourie Way/Crown Heights Lane to Outpost Road. During this time, the railroad crossing will be inaccessible, prohibiting traffic from crossing over the railroad tracks. As an alternative route, motorists are advised to use Main Street for east/west access. Detours will be in place. See map below of the closure.
Expect Major Delays for your commute. For your safety and the safety of others, please obey all signs, devices, and personnel.
The total cost of the project is estimated at $64.1 million, with the City of Hesperia responsible for $37 million. The county and the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority are expected to cover the remaining costs. This project is anticipated to take 18 months to complete. With all the rain it may extend the project to finish on time.
*Schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather or construction issues.
This project is anticipated to be complete at the end of 2023 or beginning of 2024.
