LEHI, UT. (Pain In The Pass) >> A father is facing a long road to recovery after being involved in a car accident on Interstate 15 in Lehi Utah.

The accident happened on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. Adam George was driving his Chevy Malibu on northbound lanes of I-15 between Main Street in Lehi, UT.

For unknown reasons the George swerved out of the lane of travel and collided with the concrete wall before veering back into northbound traffic and striking the side of an semi 18-wheeler. The semi truck reportedly did not stop as a result of the the collision; it continued north on the interstate without stopping to render aid of any sort. George reportedly had to be extricated from the wreckage before being transported to a local hospital by emergency medical services in order to receive treatment for serious injuries incurred as a result of the accident.

As the doctors evaluated Adam they had come to realize that he was decapitated from the inside, his skull had detached from his spine, his hip was fractured, pelvis fractured, broken teeth, broken ribs and multiple brain bleeds. It is a miracle he is ALIVE! After many discussions the doctors had determined this was a very rare and unusual case one that he should not have survived. The decision was made to preform surgery.

On Monday November 20th, 2023 Adam underwent an extensive surgery to his spine and skull. The C1 and C2 vertebrae were removed; a metal plate was put in at the base of the skull, along with 2 screws and a metal rod were attached to his C3 with multiple wires, leaving Adam with no more range of motion up, down, or side to side. The doctors will continue to monitor him and review his broken hip and pelvis to see if additional surgery will be needed. This will be a long road to recovery, with extensive rehabilitation. We are asking for prayers for complete recovery and healing, our God is a mighty God and we trust in his everlasting power. Adam had recently started a new job and unfortunately was not yet insured. The vehicle he was driving was also their only vehicle. Stephanie has been renting a car to make the 2 hour drive daily while taking care of their children. He is the main provider of the family to his wife Stephanie George, daughter Brielle (12) daughter Sienna (7), son Elias (4) and daughter Amelia (3).

George’s family has set up a GoFundMe Page to help pay for medical expenses.
