CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> One person was taken to the hospital after a five-car pile-up on Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass Tuesday morning. (Photo above is credit by Joey Cervantes)
The crash happened about 3:21am November 28, 2023 just south of Cleghorn Road near the construction zone that had three lanes blocked up ahead. Traffic started to slow to a stop. This is when multiple vehicles were passing in the emergency center lane at high speeds. A gray Volkswagen sedan reportedly lost control and rear-ended a white sedan and started a chain reaction. The other three vehicle involved were a silver Toyota Tundra pickup truck a maroon Ford Explorer SUV, and white Lexus sedan.
One person was taken to a local hospital via ambulance complaining with facial injuries. The other drivers were reportedly uninjured.
All lanes of I-15 were cleared by 4:30am.
We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Inland Office.
