CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A driver lost control of his vehicle, striking a semi tractor-trailer Sunday in the Cajon Pass on Interstate 15.

California Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 11am February 4, 2024 when a red Nissan Sentra sedan rear-ended a semi tractor trailer while heading southbound on I-15 near the Truck Escape Ramp.

According to the California Highway Patrol traffic log the driver of the red Nissan sedan was speeding prior to the collision with the semi.

A witness stated on the Pain In The Pass Facebook Group. He said, The driver of the red car was probably going 100+ mph with traffic going the speed limit. He was traveling in the #3 lane swerved to the slow lane, then back to the #3 lane where he cut off a pickup truck driver, which made him to lose control of the Nissan and slam in the back of a semi.

The Nissan became disabled the fast lane and the semi was able to pull to the right shoulder.

The driver of the Nissan sedan and the semi driver were not injured in the collision.
