APPLE VALLEY, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A vegetation fire erupted in the Stoddard Valley OHV Area Tuesday afternoon. (Photo above is credit by Cindy Ehrlich.)
This fire was reported at about 1:09pm Tuesday, June 11, 2024. The location of the flames was south of Interstate 15 and Hodge Road near the Stoddard Valley OHV Area. San Bernardino County Fire Department, CAL FIRE, and BLM firefighters were quickly on scene.
At 5:30pm the fire has been slowed at about 256 acres burned with 25% contained. Firefighters will remain in the area for mop-up operations through the night make sure no hot spots flare up.
Update at 9pm the fire is 272 acres with 50% contained.
Final update 8pm on Friday the fire is fully contained.
No structure was threat or damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. The fire is dubbed the Stoddard Fire.
